Daily Routine (10 minutes) Prayer: Begin with a prayer. Checking of Attendance: Quickly record attendance. Energizer: A brief game of "Mystery Bag" where students guess items in a bag using descriptive clues, connecting it to making inferences. GAME II. Reading Time (170 minutes ) A. Vocabulary Development JUMBLED WORD Introduce vocabulary taken from the story to be read GREEDY Neighbor Brick Empty shrugged Arranging the jumbled word (spelling) May ask learners to use the words in a sentence A.2 Story Introduction: Briefly introduce the story, highlighting the mystery or unknown elements that will require inferencing. TITLE OF THE TEXT: THE GREEDY MAN Inferencing Overview: Discuss what inferencing is and how to use text clues and background knowledge to make educated guesses. Discussion: Facilitate a discussion focusing on the inferences made during reading. Explore how different inferences can be supported by evidence from the text.
