- Our project is designed to automatically keep track of
the vehicle’s movement, record the time and the details
like Owner’s name, date of registration, vehicle model
etc.
- This helps towards improving the Tracking & monitoring
of vehicles, traveling in predetermined routes.
- It identifies an approaching vehicle and records the
vehicle number & Time. If the vehicle belongs to the
authorized person/group, it automatically opens the Toll
Gate and a predetermined amount is automatically
deducted from its account.
1. Automatic toll collection system using RFID
In this we do the identification with the help of radio frequency. A vehicle
will hold an RFID tag. This tag is nothing but unique identification number
assigned.
2. Electronic toll collection system using passive
RFID technology
This paper focuses on an electronic toll collection (ETC) system using radio
frequency identification (RFID) Technology with the use GPS which was bit
inefficient.
3. Automatic Toll Gate System Using Advanced RFID
and GSM Technology
Most Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) systems around the world are
implemented by DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) technology.
There are two ways of collecting toll tax being in
practice at present,
1. The traditional manual method where one person
collects the money and issues a receipt.
2. Smart Card system where the person needs to
show the smart card to the system installed at the
toll tax depot to open the barrier.
- Collecting toll tax being in practice at present.
- Chances of escaping the payment of toll tax
are there.
- It leads to queuing up of following vehicles.
- Vehicles can’t be monitored from a remote
area.
- Each vehicle will be provided by an RF TX tag
containing a unique ID.
- This tag will continuously emit RF signals
through Li Fi Tx. When the vehicle will reach
at the toll booth the Li Fi receiver will detect
these RF signals.
- Microcontroller will check whether the user is
valid or not, if valid the gate control which is
supported by a stepper motor will open and
amount will be deducted from the prepaid.

- Remote Signaling lights can be monitored
using only one receiver.
- Automatic collection of toll tax.
- Free flow of traffic
- Time saving
- Record maintenance
- Problems due to toll evaders can be avoided
- If this technology used, every bulb can be used
something like a Wi-Fi hotspot to transmit
wireless data and we will proceed toward the
cleaner, greener, safer and brighter future.
- The concept of Li-Fi is currently attracting a
great deal of interest, since with this enhanced
technology, a growing number of people and
their many devices access wireless internet,
transmit data at higher rates and on the other it
is very cheap as compared with Wi-Fi.
1. The project is used to secure and avoid the
road accidents.
2. It can be used as part for automation of Toll
Gates or Public Transportation.
3. This system is used to trace the culprit
vehicles by police persons.
4. This project can also be used by Cargo
Companies to intimate their on-road vehicles
about the next delivery spot or assignment.
5. This system can be used to ‘time keeping’
purpose in public transportation, such as
departure & arrival timings, number of rotations
each vehicle turned etc.
