  • #2: Emphasis on personal Relationships
  • #3: Why the internet (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) helps keep relationships. What used to happen when a contact changed jobs? Loss of contacts frequently, especially if the job entailed relocation.
  • #4: We are going to talk about how LinkedIn will help you in your job search and how it will assist in your networking activities
  • #5: LinkedIn is designed for professionals to assist them in their networking for a variety of purposes. Collaboration between peers to advance skills and knowledge. Assist friends or others in your network to know more about your professional abilities. Over 80 million networkers to search for on LinkedIn. Explain degrees of separation. If you know 10 people and they each know 10 people who also know 10 people you now have reasonable access to 1,110 people. That is the ideal situation, The numbers will really be lower because some of those people will know people that you know. Over 100,000 recruiters are on LinkedIn. What are they there for, to find the ideal candidate for the job they need to fill.
  • #6: Privacy concerns. Don’t use your home telephone number or your professional email. Use a throw away email such as Gmail or Yahoo. Do not show your address. Your contact information will not be shown anyone except your connections and premium subscribers such as Recruiters. When Recruiters are looking for candidates they use Key Words to search and when they find a match they want to be able to contact that person to inquire his/her availability for recruitment.
  • #7: These are the categories of information to be placed into your profile. Not all will be necessary but use all that you have information that will help the viewer know what you can do for them.
  • #8: Note that the top title below the name should be the title you are seeking. Those may be the keyword that is being searched for so those key words are placed in several areas of the profile.
  • #11: Shows the power of the 3 degrees. Notice the 13,589 new people in the network, that was for 2 days!
