LITCHFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY HELP!
Library Cards Your mom or dad will help you get a library card. Always bring your card when you come to the library.
Get a Library Card Fill out an application. Your parent or guardian must sign it. Bring your library card every time you come to the library.
Use the library computers Bring  your library card Stop at the desk and register  Let the librarian know if you need more than ½ hour to take a test or work on work for school  One person per computer

Homework and Computers Many students use the library computers to type their homework or use the Internet. Allow yourself plenty of time. If you print, be prepared to pay for your copies and pick them up as soon as they are printed. Your 5 th  grade teachers may teach you how to use your student folder and the school server. You can do this at the library, and librarians can help you if you need assistance.
School Server Information Your teachers will tell you about using the school server.  This information was copied from the school website Students can access their server folder from any computer with an Internet connection.  Internet Explorer 5.5 - 6.0.X or Netscape 6.0 or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 is required.  (IE 7.0 does not work)  (ask teacher ) http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/     Enter your  username  without your graduation year . Download  and save your file to your home computer, work on it, then  Upload  it back into your server folder.  For the NetWare WebAccess login screen, click on this URL link.   https://lps465.litchfield.k12.mn.us/NetStorage/
Using the School Server at the Public Library You must save your files in order to upload to the server Saving to the library computers is usually not possible.  Just assume that you can’t save to the desktop or hard drive. Flash drives (thumb, jump) work best You can borrow a flash drive at the front desk Remember that sign in off campus is different from the login  you use at the school.

To request a book, click on the request button
Electronic Library of Minnesota http://www.elm4you.org/ Electronic books, magazines, newspapers www.litch.com/library  and click on link to Net Library, Newspapers, or Magazines. Net library: set up a user name and password on a library computer. Newspapers or Magazine databases: use your library card to log in.  You can choose to have full text articles Citation is provided, exactly like using the print magazine.
Help finding a book for required reading Ask your teacher for suggestions Use the card catalog Ask a librarian Allow plenty of time, especially if you need to request a book!! DO NOT wait until the weekend before the book report is due!!

Cook the Books  with 4-H @ Your Library For students in grades K through 5 Darcy Cole will often be our guest  An activity for readers and eaters! We’ll make an interesting snack, learn a little, and have fun! Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Summer Vacation Book Club! For Grades 3-6 Third Tuesdays: 3:30-4:30 p.m. June 17, July 15  Read and discuss books, enjoy activities, and devour a snack!
Chef Roberto’s  Magical Cooking Show Tuesday, July 15 3:00-4:00 p.m. For children ages 4-12 and their families An entertaining look at the wonderful world of cooking Emphasizes books and  reading, magic, and fun!
