MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: Letter of Recommendation
To all concerned:
I am drafting this correspondence on behalf of Mr. Greg Scott, who worked for me while I was
the Seattle District IT Chief at the US Army Corps of Engineers in Seattle, WA Jan 2013-Jan
2015. On a personal level Mr. Scott has tremendous character; he embodies values consistent
with success desired by world class organizations.
In my daily interactions with Mr. Scott he exhibited uncompromising integrity, loyalty, duty,
and service before self in his dealings with team members and zeal to accomplish the mission.
Always a consummate professional in his service and support he became, almost from the
beginning of his tenure with our organization, my go to technician for the rather difficult service
calls from both a technical and customer relations vantage. Mr. Scott has a rare work ethic, he
strives to be the best at what he does, determines to streamline processes and procedures and
goes about documenting what he learns to pass on to other team members. His leadership skills
were noted by the service supervisor, when he was out-of-office; Greg was always identified as
the team lead in his absence. Additionally, because of his superior technical skill and ability, he
was recruited into a coveted position on the distinguished L3 team (a tier III support team for
our organization) critical to handling the most challenging issues affecting the USACE IM/IT
Enterprise.
During my time as the District IT Chief, and now as a Division IT Chief, I can think of no better
operator for my organization or yours than the services provided by Mr. Greg Scott. Greg is
forward leaning, team oriented, a force multiplier and extremely value added. He set up and
managed international multifaceted teleconferences for international organizations to conduct
engineering business with the Army Corps of engineers at the highest levels. Additionally, he
streamlined installation procedures for in-processing and out-processing personnel, automated
many manual processes cutting our response times in half; thereby allotting more time for
specialized desk side support for our customer base. There are many other challenges solved by
Mr. Greg Scott, of which I would be happy to speak with you, should you require more
feedback.
In closing, having served as an IT Chief and Director of IT for numerous organizations in both
tactical and strategic responsibilities within the US and abroad—Mr. Scott is one of the best IT
