Validated Practices Initiative Presented by Brent Daigle, Ph.D. (ABD) Instructional Frameworks Support Frameworks Partnership Frameworks Support VPC Establish interactive  communication  structures,  i.e., website, Blackboard Access surveys Professional development framework Communication  with SDE Communication  with other agencies  Dissemination framework Implementation framework  VPI serves as a vehicle to develop coordinated, evidenced-based instructional, support, and partnership frameworks to facilitate improved educational outcomes for all students with disabilities in Louisiana .   Literature review and working papers (focus on instructional practices and essential elements)

Validated Practices Initiative Note: VPI was a three year grant-coordinated effort that began in 2005. Hurricane Katrina  hit New Orleans that same year. The state resources were eventually  redirected to address the needs of students who evacuated from  New Orleans. As a result, the VPI grant was not renewed  for the second or third year. The groundwork was laid, and hopefully this effort will resume in the future.  Presented by Brent Daigle, Ph.D. (ABD)
