This document provides information about the AS G321 Foundation Portfolio in Media unit. The purpose is to assess technical and creative skills in constructing media products, application of knowledge in evaluating work, and research skills. Students will produce two paired media pieces in response to briefs set by the exam board. They will complete a preliminary exercise and main task in the same medium, with opportunities for skills development. Accompanying research and planning must be electronically recorded. An evaluation addressing exam board questions is also required. The coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated, with marks awarded for planning/research, construction of the main task, and the evaluation.
