Virtual development centers are increasingly being used as an effective alternative to traditional in-person development centers. While virtual development centers offer cost savings and increased scalability, ensuring effectiveness requires focus on key design aspects such as maintaining intensity through timed exercises and clear deadlines, closely monitoring participant progress through an online dashboard, and properly briefing and structuring assessor inputs to limit biases. When these factors are addressed, virtual development centers can provide competency-based feedback to many participants and help them start new development journeys.
