Colleen Hodgins wrote reflections on completing her Masters of Learning Innovation through QUT in 2007 as part of the DETA cohort. She has 15 years of experience as a TAFE teacher but had not done university study in 20 years, so academic writing was a challenge. She undertook the program to enhance her skills in learning for her job, gain new opportunities, and achieve her goal of a masters by age 50. So far she has managed her time better, re-energized her passion for learning from others' perspectives, refined her research skills, and learned what not to do as a facilitator. She offers her perspective and support to others in the program and provides her contact details.
