The meteoroid was approximately 17 meters in size and traveled at over 64,000 km/h, with the explosion equivalent to a 490 kiloton bomb. Meteorite fragments scattered in various regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, with one large meteorite creating a hole in an ice-covered lake near Chelyabinsk.
