During the process of importing my
clips into the software they would
sometimes delete themselves, so I
could only import clips that were not
too big otherwise it would delete itself.
Getting enough footage to be able to fill
at least 2 minutes was a struggle as I
had to film during a tight schedule, so
not filming enough was an issue for me.
At the bottom where all the clips are you
can see there are a lot of small clips
complied together as I struggled to get
enough.

length it would not do it properly, so I

- 2. TECHNICAL Due to not being able to use the college’s equipment, I had to film on my phone, which is not as good as an actual camera, but I think I turned out good considering the circumstances. I used a clip on wide angle and macro lens to create an ‘indie’ vibe to the video instead of using the standard camera. I think by using different lenses for different parts in the music video gives it a bit of diversity, but still keeps the same theme and vibe throughout the video.
- 3. LOGISTICAL The locations i used worked perfectly fine, as they were all public access so I had to time it where no members of the public were in the shots used. I had one issue with the weather as we were filming outside, however to overcome this I changed the filming schedules so i filmed all the shots inside first and then once the rain held up we went outside to film them.
- 4. PERSONNEL My cast and crew were really helpful with supporting me with advice on what to film and when to film it. Luckily for me, they were free most of the time so it wasn’t a case of scrambling for time on when to film. As I only used one cast member I could get the shots of her one day, and then go off on my own and get the shots where she’s not in it, which is very good as I do not need to do as much planning on time management as other people.

PLANNING My planning was very useful as a had a specific image on what I wanted the video to look like, which was useful in the sense that if I could transfer my thoughts into actual filming, however I did have a mental block for a period of time as I couldn’t think how to make it into a music video. My plan was in detail on where and what to film, so it was useful when it came to filming and directing the cast member on what to do. I think I could’ve done a more in-depth plan so it was even easier once I figured out how to film the video.

- 8. EDITING : NEXT STEPS… What are the main things you’ve learned from this project? Pick a minimum of 5 to discuss… • Take time when editing – do not rush to get it done in time. • Don’t over-do it with effects and transitions as it can sometimes ruin it. • Film more clips than you need as it is better to have enough because you can pick and choose instead of just being stuck with certain clips. • Get other people to watch it and get their advice as others see things to improve on that you would not. • You cannot rely on people so therefore you always need a backup plan if everything falls through.
