The SC2SSi module converts analog position signals from an electric encoder to digital absolute position data transmitted via synchronous serial interface (SSi). It provides real-time servo feedback, configuration/monitoring over RS-422, and built-in self-tests. SSi uses differential clock and data lines to serially transmit the encoder's absolute position in response to controller clock pulses. The SC2SSi's performance depends on the original encoder characteristics and its setup, which can be calibrated and analyzed using Netzer Communication Protocol software tools.
