Standard 4a - Video 1: Developing
This teacher provides individual instruction as she helps
a struggling student with generating ideas about the
mathematics activity. Though it might be inferred that the
table of students in the back of the classroom is
receiving differentiated instruction, it is not explicitly
stated by the teacher or in the artifacts.

●What other recommendations would you make?
Standard 4a - Video 2: Developing
This teacher provides an aim statement, “To depict the Taming of the
Shrew in one of the learning styles that we have.” The teacher
provides five different activities available from which students can
select. The variety of activities provides for student choice and
encompasses various levels of rigor and skill. However, because the
teacher leaves the selection process wide-open, there is neither
evidence of student selection of the most appropriate activity for
their own learning style nor evidence of the teacher taking student
strengths or weaknesses into account.
