                Teresa Koons

ADDIE model for instructional design:

          ● Develop
          ● Implement
          ● Evaluate

This model work as an iteration having to revisit analyze repeatedly
ASSURE model for instructional design:
       ● Analyze learner
       ● State objective
       ● Select media and materials
       ● Utilize media and material
       ● Require learners participation

              Heinich, Molenda, Russell, and
              Smaldino ASSURE model of
              instructional design (1999)
Similarities & Differences:
Similarities: Differences:
Analysis Design
Evaluation Develop
                Implement
                State
                Select
                Utilize
                Require
Comparisons & Contrasts:
The ADDIE model is a broad statement of
instructional design. The ASSURE model
has narrower parameters and is more
explicit in its requirements.
Introduction of technology:
Both models lend themselves to the
introduction of technology. In ADDIE
technology can be introduced at the
design, development and implementation
stages.

Introduction of technology:
In the ASSURE model the introduction of
technology happens in the select media
and materials phase. The ASSURE model
is more explicit in how resources should
be allocated.
Technology introduction:

● A ● A
● D ● S
● D ● S

● E ● R
                     ● E
                     Heinich, Molenda, Russell, and Smaldino
                     ASSURE model of instructional design
                     (1999)
In conclusion:
The two models of instructional design
lend themselves well to the classroom.
They provide the teacher/instructor a
map in the development of their lesson.
Using these processes I believe greatly
increases the effectiveness of the
education practitioner.
