- #3: You all have heard about OpenManage Enterprise Console and we have already released the Tech Release version of OpenManage Enterprise of December 7, 2017 with almost 90% of OpenManage Essentials capabilities and remaining OpenManage Essentials capabilities will be included the 3.0 version of OpenManage Enterprise which is scheduled to be released in June of 2018. We will be covering information about what is covered in OpenManage Enterprise Tech Release as well as 3.0 version in our later slides. OpenManage Enterprise is delivered as a Linux based virtual appliance featuring a new modern HTML5 User Interface and with this console, we are simplifying the full experience for your customers. OpenManage Enterprise provides turnkey deployment as a virtual appliance and can be deployed in different hypervisors like Vmware ESXi, Microsoft HyperV or Redhat KVM. This gives certain customer like Linux customers flexibility of deployment this console in their environment without the requirement of having ESXi or Windows environment; at the same token, the look and feel of the OpenManage Enterprise console will be exactly the same regardless of Hypervisor used to deploy this console. And probably the most important direction for your larger customers is Automation through a fully featured north bound API where you can not only integrate standard consoles like Microsoft SCOM and Vmware vCenter but also home grown consoles developed using tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc. Since we have the capability of integrating with Active Directory, we can provided centralized authentication to our OpenManage Enterprise Console using AD accounts with appropriate privileges to perform certain tasks within this console. OpenManage Enterprise provides the same management infrastructure across all of the form factors in the portfolio and extending features across the solution portfolio (i.e. VxRail, Nutanix Appliances) as well Solution Aware Management: We also provide solution aware management in OpenManage Enterprise Console where if you have appliances (i.e. VxRail or Nutanix) being discovered & monitored, we block applying updates to these appliances since all the updates are recommended to be applied from their respective consoles to make sure HCL rules are applied and there are no issues.
