Girls Rock Jacksonville is a summer camp that uses music and media to promote self-empowerment in girls. - 2. Who we are Girls Rock Jacksonville is a summer camp for girls that uses music, DIY media and peer collaboration to cultivate self-empowerment and positive identity development.
- 3. What we’re trying to do With Onespark funds, we plan to secure a year round space to act as a hub for the GRJ community. It will be a place for organizers and volunteers to share skills and resources, collaborate on creative projects, hold volunteer trainings and provide additional programming for girls.
- 4. What we need We need to raise money for rent, facilities and supplies. All of which we estimate to be around $15,000 for a calendar year.

Why we are the ones to do it The GRJ community is made up of dozens of local musicians, artists, activists, teachers and designers who develop programming, volunteer their time, and collaborate on projects. GRJ is unique in that it fuses creative skills with empowerment, leadership and social justice. We work together to provide campers with the tools to build a more positive and empowering reality than what is displayed by a culture of sexism.
