 CloudiFacturing is a project within the I4MS programme aiming at
Cloudification of Production Engineering for Predictive Digital Manufacturing
 The mission of CloudiFacturing is to optimize
 production processes and producibility
 using
 Cloud/HPC-based modelling and simulation,
 leveraging
 online factory data and advanced data analytics,
 thus contributing to the
 competitiveness and resource efficiency
 of manufacturing SMEs, ultimately fostering the vision of
 Factories 4.0 and the circular economy.

 Well, by proposing an Application Experiment to our Open Call … and getting selected
 What is an Application Experiment?
 An innovative idea (use case) addressing a challenge in your current development and/or
production process
 Overcoming this challenge shall create real impact (value)
 Use cases (Application Experiments) shall
 simulate manufacturing processes or manufacturing tools,
 leverage factory data to learn from it, and
 optimize manufacturing processes and/or manufacturability of goods.

 What is an Application Experiment?
 It consists of a small consortium of 2 to 5 multidisciplinary partners, e.g.
 end users from the manufacturing sector,
 independent software vendors (ISVs),
 engineering or software consultants, aka value-added reseller (VARs),
 research organizations,
 HPC providers,
 Digital Innovation Hubs

 Criteria and constraints
 min. number of partners in an experiment consortium: 2 (one end user and one ISV / VAR)
 the consortium must be cross-border (parties must be located in at least two different European
countries)
 high participation of SMEs and mid-caps
 ‘newness’
