- 2. ORAchk ORAchk (short for Oracle Check) is a configuration audit tool that has can make validating your Oracle environment a breeze. Previously known as RACcheck, ORAchk expands on RACcheck’s capabilities and allows you to complete a variety of system checks. 2
- 3. ORAchk • RACcheck was limited to only auditing Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments. In contrast. • ORAchk can audit Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), • Single instance databases (non-RAC), • EBS (Enterprise Business Suit). But, its most attractive attribute is the ease of use. Implementing is a simple as three-step process: download, unzip, and execute. • Oracle Goldengate. 3

- 5. ORAchk OraCHK can be used with any database versions 10gR2 onwards while the platforms (OS) that it can be used include Linux x86- 64,Oracle Solaries SPARC and Solaris x86-64,AIX and HPUX. Supported Oracle Releases 10gR2, 11gR1,11gR2,12cR1 Note: ORAchk, root access (via password or SUDO) is recommended. 5

Useful Events • ORAchk Installation steps. • Download from oracle support site. • Unzip the downloded file “unzip orachk.zip” • ./orachk Note: audit checks require root privileged data collection . If sudo is not configured or the root password is not available, audit checks which require root privileged data collection can be skipped. ORAChk create a html format file and zip file, that we can upload to oracle support. 7

ORAchk • ORAchk USAGE Options ./orachk -v (Show the version) ./orachk –p (Patch check only) ./orachk –m (exclude check for MAA) ./orachk –u ( preupgrade and post upgrade for 11.2 and 12.1) ./orachk -clusternodes Pass comma separated node names to run orachk only on subset of nodes. ./-dbnames Pass comma separated database names to run orachk only on subset of databases 8
