The document discusses the history and development of quality assurance (QA) in higher education in Thailand. It began in 1994 when university presidents initiated QA, and the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) announced its QA policy and guiding directions in 1996. QA was officially implemented among higher education institutions in 1999 when the ministerial regulation regarding internal QA systems and processes was announced. OHEC has continued to develop standards and criteria for internal QA and support its implementation among universities over the past 20 years.
