Desktop Computer
 A desktop  computer is a desktop device that
 consists of a monitor and base unit that
 contains a motherboard with internal
 components, powered by a mains power
 supply. It also typically requires a computer
 mouse and keyboard and many other
 external accessories can be added (e.g.
 speaker) via wireless, USB, Bluetooth or PS2
 connectors.

Laptop Computer
 A laptop is basically a portable computer. It
 has no base unit and has no need for
 external components (as it has an inbuilt
 mouse pad, keyboard, monitor and
 sometimes an inbuilt camera), it is just one
 item. Although, as with the desktop
 computer, other external components can
 be added via wireless, USB, Bluetooth or
 PS2 connectors.

Tablet Computer
 A tablet is another version of a portable
  desktop computer. The tablet is typically
  touchscreen, meaning that it is intractable
  by touch. As it is typically touchscreen, no
  external components are needed and
  there is only an inbuilt intractable monitor
  with few buttons for various commands.
  Tablets have been around for some time
  but have only recently been reintroduced.

Smartphones
 A smartphones    is another version of a
 portable computer. Smartphones are a fairly
 recent invention in the scale of things.
 Although phones have been round for some
 time, they used to be able to only be able to
 send texts and phone people and maybe
 play the occasional game. Nowadays, they
 can virtually do anything a computer can do
 including still being able to text and phone!

Games Consoles
 Games  consoles are systems that play
 games, either electronically or in disk (or
 card) format. There are many types of
 games consoles
 (GameCube, DS, PS, PSP
 Xbox, Wii, etc.) so it cannot be defined
 with one style. Some game consoles can
 have external components but typically no
 conventional external components are
 used (mouse, keyboard etc.)
