The document presents a study on the optimization of metal inert gas (MIG) welding parameters using the Taguchi approach, focusing on input variables like voltage, current, and welding speed while examining their effects on tensile strength and hardness of low carbon steel (ASTM A29). The methodology utilized an L9 orthogonal array for experimental design and analyzed variance (ANOVA) to determine the influence of welding parameters on weld quality. Results indicated that welding current significantly affects the tensile strength and hardness of the welds.
