What is it...?
• The Exhibition is a
culminating PYP event
that allows the students
to engage in a
collaborative, student-
led, in-depth inquiry
process, which is
supported by teachers
and parents.
and how does it work?
1. Students identify a real-life issue that they
would like to investigate
2. A time-frame is established and criteria given
3. Mentors are identified
4. Students, teachers, and mentors work
together to pursue their questions using the
inquiry process
5. Students present their findings/actions with
the community
What must be included?
• Examples of written work in
various formats
• Oral presentations
• Technology integration
• Performances or compositions
in any medium (the arts)
• Use of local resources
• Documented “action”
How does it differ from a UoI?
• Completely student-led
• Mentor support needed
• Whole community
involvement
• Greater student
responsibility for planning
and executing project
independently
• Sums up EVERYTHING

Recognizing and helping students develop the range of their capacities, positive
attitudes and effective habits of mind is the shared responsibility of teachers, and is
at the core of all curriculum development and delivery.
How will we know it’s been successful?
• Real, significant issues were identified
• Whole community collaboration was evident
• All students were supported
• The 5 essential PYP elements were evident
• Students could demonstrate and reflect on the
attributes of the Learner Profile
• A range of media, forms, and materials were used
• It was a celebration of learning, marking an end as
well as a new beginning
