1) African citizens are already experiencing severe impacts of climate change even though they contribute very little to global greenhouse gas emissions.
2) Research across 6 African countries found that while Africans strongly perceive changes to the local environment and weather, public understanding of human-induced climate change is limited.
3) Better information and dialogue is needed to empower African citizens to respond to climate change impacts and ensure their perspectives are represented in global climate negotiations which will determine the future livelihoods of many Africans.
