Elysium is a 2013 American science fiction film directed by Neill Blomkamp. It is set in a future where Earth is overpopulated and polluted, while the wealthy live aboard a space station called Elysium. In the year 2154, Elysium's defense secretary uses mercenaries to prevent immigrants from reaching Elysium to access medical technology that can cure diseases. An accident leaves ex-con Max radiation-poisoned, and he seeks a way to reach Elysium's advanced medical facilities before he dies. He undergoes modifications to infiltrate Elysium and access a program that can change citizenship designations.

Luna and William Fichtner. It is set in a near future in which an overpopulated
Earth has serious problems of overcrowding and pollution, while the richest part of
the population is isolated from all in a space habitat called Elysium.
In 2154, the rich live in an advanced space station called Elysium toroidal shape,
built by the Armadyne Corporation, while others live in an overpopulated Earth
ruined. The defense secretary, Jessica Delacourt (Jodie Foster), decided to retain
the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium and employs psychopathic
mercenary Kruger (Sharlto Copley) to remove illegal immigrants trying to reach
Elysium and use their advanced Med -Pods. President Patel (Faran Tahir)
disagree with their methods and threatens to cesarla addition to dismiss Kruger.
Delacourt then convinces the Chief Armadyne, John Carlyle (William Fichtner), to
write a computer program that can reset the control software and allow Elysium
replace its president. Carlyle stores the program in your own mind for safekeeping
until he leaves Earth to Elysium.

Meanwhile, Max Da Costa (Matt Damon), an ex-con living in the ruins of Los Angeles and works in Armadyne factories that manufacture robotic surveillance drones to Elysium, is reunited with an old friend, Frey (Alice Braga ), who works as a nurse in a crowded public hospital and has a daughter, Matilda, who is dying of leukemia. After being exposed to dangerous levels of radiation in an accident and learning that will die in five days, Max is dismissed by Carlyle, which seeks the help of a smuggler, Spider (Wagner Moura), who agrees to help Max Elysium infiltrate and use a Med-Pod to heal itself. In return, Max helps you steal information from the mind of Carlyle Spider can exploit. Max receives biotechnological implants, including a rudimentary mechanical exoskeleton that increases your strength and a transmitter to transfer the code directly from the mind of Carlyle to his and to pass them on to Spider. Then intercepts Ferry Carlyle with the help of his friend Julio (Diego Luna) and Spider men and steals data from the mind of Carlyle. Upon learning of the attack, Delacourt unfolds Kruger and his men to rescue Carlyle, and in the ensuing fight, Julio kills Carlyle and sacrifices himself so that Max can escape. Max Frey looking for help, but refuses to smuggle Matilda to Elysium so it can heal. Spider later tells Max that Delacourt quarantined to Los Angeles to find, and could use the program to rewrite the configuration of Elysium and that the inhabitants of Earth to become citizens too. Max refuses, and instead negotiate with Kruger for him to be taken to Elysium to change the program. Frey and Matilda are captured by the men of Kruger and taken to Elysium with Max; on the journey confronts Max Kruger and his men, busting ship by the explosion of a Granada he was carrying, and this collides with Elysium; there are captured by Delacourt, preparing to remove the program from the mind of Max with the consequence of killing him in the process. However, Kruger betrays Delacourt killing when this reproached for not completing the mission discreetly. Max escapes and meets Spider, who arrives with his men to help him. Together, they kill Kruger and his men, and Max is sacrificed to load the program into the control tower of Elysium. Spider then makes human beings on Earth citizens of
