This document discusses the history and features of A Concise Repertory of Homoeopathic Medicines. It was conceived by Dr. Salini Mandal to provide a concise and handy repertory arranged in alphabetical order. With help from friends like Mr. S.L Kapadi and Dr. (Mrs) Homai A Merchant, Dr. Mandal compiled the repertory over many years, adding to it based on clinical experience. The repertory lists remedies alphabetically without philosophy. It contains rubrics for parts of the body with related subrubrics and includes many rubrics not found in other repertories.

Author used to discuss the uses of various repertories with the doctors who came to him for guidance in the study of Homoeopathy… That time, he conceived the idea of preparing and arranging the repertory in one alphabetical order. The repertory had also to be concise and handy one. Eventhough this idea took root, the author due to his ill state was reluctant to undertake the task.
- 8. But one of his friend Mr.S.L Kapadi, who knew about the idea, came to his help with a skeletal copy of this work. He asked the author to fill up the gaps, check and recheck it. The skeletal work was prepared by Mr.Kapadi from authors rough draft, notes etc of Marathi repertory. The author had to agree with Mr.Kapadi. He arranged the work properly, rewrote it and made many additions. Dr.(Mrs) Homai A Merchant who used to come to the author for guidance saw this hand written work and offered to type it.
- 9. the typed copy was lying with the author for nearly 10 years. During this interval he made several other additions to it. Later when it was decided to published the authors son approached Mr. D.P.Datay, who promised all help and undertook the work. Dr.(Mrs) Homai once again typed the whole work on request and also made valuable suggestions.

- 16. There are no divisions called chapters Starts with Abdomen and ends with Zygoma… Each parts of the body is made into rubric with a lot of subrubric related to the part. ARRANGEMENT OF RUBRIC: A rubric starts with bold capitals. Subrubric - 1st letter of the subrubric will be in bold and rest normal. But all in capitals.

- 18. Aversions, Cravings as separate rubrics. Vomiting, thirst, fever, pulse etc in alphabetical order. Pain rubric as a separate main rubric. A subrubric has its sides, sensation, modalities, conditions. Causations are also mentioned under s rubric when and where needed.
- 19. General modalities – amel & agg are given Direction of symptoms as separate main rubric. Diagnostic terms are included like – measles, pneumonia, malaria, bronchitis. Main rubric – Children given seperately. Drug Abuse of in general etc as main Rubric (107) Gait (172)
- 20. GRADATION OF REMEDIES 1ST GRADE – CAPITALS – 3 mark 2nd GRADE – italics – 2 mark 3RD GRADE – roman – 1 mark
