This document summarizes the design of a large-scale "pizza garden" intended to educate children about the origins of pizza ingredients. Key features of the design include raised beds in the shape of a pizza for growing vegetables, grain crops and pasture for small livestock on the other side of the road, an education center, and a solar oven. The designers had to overcome challenges such as disproportionate space allotted for toppings versus grain. They applied permaculture principles like earth care, problem as solution, and polyculture/diversity. The final design is intended to sustainably source most pizza ingredients on site while teaching children about food production.
