- 2. PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller. It is basically a computing system used to control electromechanical processes. SCADA, on the other hand, stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, which is a form of industrial control system used to monitor and control infrastructure and facilities in industries. ABOUT PLC AND SCADA TRAINING PLC forms an indispensible part of an automated industrial system. It along with the other components of an automated system, such as sensors, motors, actuators, valves, conveyors, boilers, SCADA systems and others makes up a real Automated Manufacturing plant.

This can be Graphical , Tabular and can involve words and pictures. It’s main function is to act as Human Machine Interface. SCADA runs on a PC and is generally connected to various PLCs and other peripheral devices. SCADA constantly collects data from the plant in real-time, stores and processes it in the database, evaluates and generates alarms, displays information to plant-operators, supervisors and managers and can issue instructions to PLCs on the plant floor. The advantages are better control and monitoring of the plant, access to information in the desired form, reduction in the amount of defects in the output and decline in production cost.
