The Directorate General for Productivity (DGP) in Turkey was established in 1965 and restructured in 2011 to improve competitiveness and sustainable economic development through productivity. The DGP develops productivity policies and strategies, conducts research, monitors and evaluates productivity changes, and promotes productivity awareness. It has four departments and aims to measure and improve productivity through technical assistance, training, incentives programs, and awareness campaigns. Turkey's policy documents emphasize productivity, including the 10th National Development Plan and the 2015-2018 Productivity Strategy and Action Plan. The Productivity Strategy focuses on workforce skills, business climate, sustainable production, and innovation.

- 2. Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology Directorate General for Productivity National Productivity Centre of Turkey (NPC) est. in 1965, was restructured on August 2011 and merged with the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology with the name DG for Productivity (DGP).
- 3. FUNCTIONS OF DGP With the purpose of improving competitiveness and providing sustainable development of economy, based on productivity DGP aims at; Developing policies and strategies on productivity and cleaner production; Conducting studies in order to improve productivity and competitiveness; Monitoring and evaluating the changes in productivity on sectoral and regional basis; Promoting productivity awareness in all sectors and supporting the studies.

DIRECTORATE GENERAL FOR PRODUCTIVITY (DGP) PRODUCTIVITY MONITORING AND EVALUATION DEPARTMENT CONSULTANCY & TRAINING DEPARTMENT PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION & INCENTIVES DEPARTMENT PRODUCTIVITY POLICIES & RESEARCH DEPARTMENT SUPPORT SERVICES DGP is one of the seven DGs in the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology:
- 5. develop productivity policies and strategies and to do research and prepare publications with the aim of associating all macro variables in conformity with the productivity approaches; act as a coordinator in preparing action plans about productivity; monitor implementation, assess and evaluate the results; perform studies for taking measures and for furnishing legal arrangements in line with the assessments and evaluations DUTIES OF DGP 1. To do research, formulate policies and strategies for productivity, monitor the implementation and to evaluate the results;
- 6. promote consultancy and training services which contribute to the development of productivity and environmental performance; raise awareness for developing and promoting efficient as well as human and nature friendly products and services throughout the country. 2.To provide technical assistance for enterprises to improve productivity, perform training and consultancy activities and promote productivity awareness;
- 7. 3. To perform studies for measurement, assessment and monitoring compose indicators for productivity and cleaner production within the scope of all sectors; perform measurement studies; Announce and publish the results periodically; compare the results on national and international level.
- 8. ensure the development of a productivity movement comprising all sectors; form coordination and support mechanisms for the productivity improvement programs and projects at country, region and sector levels; contribute to the operation of such mechanisms in cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations both within the country and also from abroad; 4. To develop and implement productivity and cleaner production programs and projects at country, region, sector and enterprise levels, to promote and support the activities in this field
