Bricolage The representation of Sinead O’connor music video and the almost recreation clearly shows us the act of rock being collaborated with self-conscious Seeing as Miley Cyrus is flaunting her body naked we can clearly see she is very aware of herself and actions. Hyper-Reality The fact that we see Miley Cyrus portraying heart break via a wrecking ball which is very heavy clearly shows reality being exaggerated
- 3. Taylor Swift – Shake it off Semiotics Taylor Swift clearly uses Semiotics when dressing in different characteristic ways. For example, when dancing and dressed in a ‘hip hop’ fashion props such as stereos are being used to add more to this. Intertextuality As clearly shown when Taylors swift presents herself in different character aspects, we can clearly see that she starts to ‘shake off’ (by moving her hands) when dancing. Hierarchies of taste and Cynicism Is shown as Taylor swift mocks twerking. This is clearly shown as low ground as she tries to twerk.

Simulation It is understood when taking ‘the blue pill the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. 'They Live' (1988) - Sunglasses Scene Deconstruction In the sunglasses scene in ‘They Live’, it is clear to us that the over the head mid shot features a man in sun glasses reacts to the making of a major ideological point. Semiotics The zombified personification of the businessman is a metaphor and critique of capitalism and modernism. The reason why this is a post-modern scene is because the director is critiquing our media-saturated society ad challenging the blurred boundary between reality and fantasy. The glasses reveal the ‘Real’ world and our supposed reality is seen as a con.
