- 8. We use “There is / There are” to say that something exists (or does not exist). Use “There is” for singular nouns. Use “There are” for plural nouns. There is a student in the classroom. There are two students in the classroom. There is a book on the table. There are nine books on the table.
- 9. The negative form of this structure is “There isn’t / There aren’t” There isn’t juice in the glass. There isn’t a computer on the desk. There aren`t children in the park.
