- 2. Legislative BranchWhat they do: Their job is to make the laws for the United States.The Legislative branch is more commonly known as Congress.
- 3. Legislative BranchThere are 2 parts of congress, one is….House of Representatives: the house has 435 members, the larger your state is the more house representatives you have. Each member of the house is elected for two year terms. There is no limit to how many times the representative can be re-elected, but they must be at least 25 years old to be elected. Legislative BranchThe other branch of congress is the Senate. The senate is made up of 100 members, two from each state. It does not matter if you have a large state or a small one, you can still only have 2 members. Each member of the senate is elected in six year terms and must be at least 30 years old to serve in the senate. There is also no limit on the amount of terms you can serve.
- 4. Executive BranchWhat they do:The job of the executive branch is to make sure that all the laws are followed.
- 5. Executive BranchWho they are:Everyone knows the head of the executive branch. It is the President of the United States. The second in command would be the Vice President of the United States and his job is to help the President handle everything there is to handle.
- 6. Judicial BranchWhat they do:They decide the meanings of the laws made. They interpret the laws.
- 7. Judicial BranchWho they are: There are many courts all around, but the highest court with the most power is the Supreme court and they handle only the biggest cases, no cases go directly to the supreme court they are appealed over and over and then if they have big enough controversy the supreme court will try the case.
