 VISUAL AIDS
Visual aids are used as supports to the presentation.
To make the presentation more effective, the speaker
must make use of visual aids such as charts, chalk
boards, film slides, transparencies, diagrams, maps
and pictures.
GUIDELINES FOR THE USE
OF VISUAL AIDS
 Three B’s must be used i.e. the BIG, the BOLD
and the BEAUTIFUL.
 Slides should be prepared error free.
 Material should be well spaced and written in
capital or block letters.
 It is prudent to pause for a short while as they
absorb the contents of the visuals.
 Never turn your back to the audience.
 Everyone in the audience is able to see this visual
aids clearly.
 The speaker must explain the visual aids.
 The visual aids must be fitted well in the
presentation.
 Slides must be clearly numbered in the correct
sequence.
 No visual aid should be kept on for too long.
 A slide should carry only essential information.
HANDOUTS
A handout is a paper
containing a summary of information
or topics which is dealt with in a
lecture or talk.
Handouts
 should be given to the participants
prior to commencing the session.
 should be extremely well prepared.
 FEEDBACK FORMS
A feedback form is a way in which
customer feedback is obtained. Feedback
forms must be prepared well in advance.
