- 4. LOCATION AND PURPOSE Print: • Almanac-variety of facts, published each year • Dictionary-meaning of words, alphabetical • Atlas-book of maps • Encyclopedia-information on particular topics, alphabetical Found in the reference section!

PURPOSE Print: • Telephone book-find addresses and phone numbers, and of course order pizza • Yearbook-archival information, history of people who attended the school • Magazine-information on specific topics, many times they are published each month • Books-nonfiction books provide facts and information on particular topics, fiction books are usually for pleasure.

PURPOSE Non-print: • CD and player- can provide information on topics or can be used for fun • Radio-can provide information in emergencies, weather updates, news, and music • TV-can be educational or not • Internet/websites-can provide infinite amounts of information but not everything is accurate online
