Objectives To Achieve To calculate the volume of engine room excluding casing.
To calculate the volume of engine room including casing.
To calculate the mass of Co2 gas required.
To determine the number of Co2 gas cylinders.
To increase the volume of engine room by 20% of its actual volume.
To calculate the mass of Co2 gas required after increase in volume.
To determine the final number of Co2 gas cylinders required.
To find the bodily sinkage of ship due to new added mass.
To determine the correct material and required length of pipe for piping.

  • 20. Getting Startedwith Frames 30 - 60Frames 54 - 60Area 1 = 44.91 m2Volume 1 = 164.286 m3By taking average height from frames 30 – 54, the following volume calculations been done.Frames 30 - 54Area 2 = 39.29 m2Volume 2 = 574.82 m3TOTAL VOLUME = 739.114 m3
  • 21. OTHER CALCULATIONSVolume without casing and comparing both volume according SOLAS Regulations. CO2 mass calculations.
  • 23. Again Mass of Gas required for increased volume.
  • 24. Number of cylinders Required.
  • 26. Required pipes, pipe fitting and nozzles.
  • 27. Finally Cost Caluculations.3ConculsionFrom those calculations and report, the requirement of new and extra instalations had done to the ferry company according solas regulations. Opinion by reasoning for seamless delivery

What is the final recommendation ?Hover over the video and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.Finally I would like to recommend the Total flooding DischargeNozzles instead of using 180° or 360° nozzles.Because the total flooding type discharge the Co2 gas 5 times faster than others. And More efficient too.Co2 Gas Discharging about to suppress
