Submit work listed in red by 11:59 PM on the day and date indicated. Week Complete the Following Week 7 Monday 10/7 to Sunday 10/13 1. Read Handout and Chapter from Practical Strategies for Technical Communication. • Assignment Sheet • Chapter 8: Creating Graphics 2. Study slidedocs 1 and 2. 3. Watch Video Tutorial: The Most Common Design Mistakes Made by Non-Designers. 4. Investigate statistical data from original sources (use links on the project page or find other sources). 5. Choose statistical data and focus the data story you will tell in your infographic. 6. Peer Review Textual Outline and Wireframe Part 1 Due: Tuesday 10/8. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to post a draft of your textual outline and the photo of your wireframe sketch. NOTE: you will need to create a thread to post the textual outline, then reply to that thread to post the wireframe. 7. Peer Review Textual Outline and Wireframe Part 2 Due: Thursday 10/10. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to respond to a peer’s draft of the Textual Outline and Wireframe.

Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to post your infographic. 2. Peer Review Infographic Part 2 Due: Thursday 10/17. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to respond to a peer’s infographic. Week 9 Monday 10/21 to Sunday 10/27 1. Go to Tools and Resources, decide which tool you will use for the Screencast, and do a test recording. Follow troubleshooting steps, if you encounter technical issues. 2. Write the design justification script, practice it, and record your screencast. 3. Peer Review Screencast Design Justification Part 1 Due: Tuesday 10/22. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to post your screencast. 4. Peer Review Screencast Design Justification Part 2 Due: Thursday 10/24. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to respond to a peer’s screencast. PROJECT 3 DELIVERABLES DUE: Sunday 10/27. Submit your work to the submissions drop box located at the bottom of the project page as follows: • Process Work for Infographic: Textual Outline: submit a Word or PDF document file. Wireframe: submit an image file (JPEG, PNG etc.). • Deliverable 1: Infographic, submit as an image (JPEG, PNG, etc. file); PDF. If your file is over 1 MB, compress it OR post the URL in a document file if your infographic is on a host site (such as by Visme). • Deliverable 2: Screencast, submit the URL to your screencast in a document file (you can use the same one you used for the infographic's URL). To avoid a point penalty, verify your submission. Do not rely solely on bblearn’s confirmation that your work submitted. You need to check that your work submitted correctly. This means you need to go back to the drop box after submitting your work and 1) open your document files, and 2) check that the URL will work by cutting and pasting what you submitted into a browser.
