You will Need:
1)Pencil, Calculator
2)Practice & Review– 1 page 2
sides
3)Quick Write #4
Test #1-Retakes
1. 1 opportunities to retake
2. Monday at lunch
3. Same content/different
   tests
4. No notes; just a calculator
Quick Writes will not be grade for points
   but for participation and honesty.
1. You are allowed to use your brain, any
notes, labs or worksheets we have
   done in class.
2. You may not use your textbook or
   interactive reader.
3. You will have 10 minutes to complete as
   many questions as possible.
4. With a colored pencil, you will grade
   your own.
1. Identify the type of numbers
   you have. (unit labels)
Whenever you work a density problem…. Look to see
what numbers you are given. You identify the
  numbers by their unit label.
Once you know what numbers you have you can
   determine which formula to use.
SOMETIMES you will need to first find the VOLUME
  before using a density formula.
Mass Unit Labels = any gram amount
Volume Unit Labels = cm3, cc, mL
       Density Unit Labels = g/cm3, g/cc, g/mL
2. Understand what the problem
   is asking.
Carefully read through the problem to
  understand what is going on…
1.Are they asking you to find
    displacement?
2.Are they asking you to find the
    volume of a cube?
  3.Or…are you given enough variables
to use one of the density formulas?
3. It is a one step problem or two
   step problem?

Remember: You may need to find volume
first before using a density formula.
4. Which formula should you
   use?
Once the numbers (variables) you are
given in a problem have been identified
you need to determine which formula
  to use.
 D = m/v     V = m/D        m= v x D
1. Identify the type of numbers
   you have. (unit labels)
2. Understand what the problem
   is asking.
3. It is a one step problem or two
   step problem?
4. Which formula should you
   use?
Task List
1) Work to complete Practice
and Review This sheet is part
of Lab we will start on
Monday…not due until
Wednesday
Homework
1)None- Unless you owe me
 something
2)Enjoy your weekend!
