Purpose To Empower partner-communities to participate in Red Cross' mission of alleviating human suffering.
COMMUNITY SERVE MOBILIZE VOLUNTEER INDIVIDUALS VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS Leadership Social Structure Resources Communication Continuity
Empower Partner Communities to: Respond to local disasters Mainstream Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Localize delivery of Red Cross services (including blood services)  To support the programs & services of Red Cross Establish disaster management alliances; Develop capacity-building systems including the Web-based Emergency Access System & the Virtual Blood Bank Objectives
What is PIS? A volunteer organization development program A Red Cross alliance A unified disaster management network Key Areas of PIS
Purpose of the Alliance The Alliance is a coalition of Partners in Service (PIS) of Red Cross working towards the fulfillment of the Red Cross mission to save lives and alleviate of human suffering.
Under the supervision, coordination, direction and control of Red Cross, the Alliance's objectives are: To actively recruit, train, deploy and utilize empowered and trained Red Cross volunteers and certified blood donors within each partner's organization/community To deliver the basic Red Cross services, through their embedded Red Cross empowered volunteers and certified blood donors, in their respective communities, adjacent communities & to members of the coalition To help implement and support, whether through manpower, intellectual resources, assets, skills, or financial resources, the programs & services of Red Cross To standardize operating systems, protocols & procedures among members of the coalition to ensure inter-operability To promote the seamless exchange of information, ideas and best practices among coalition members to maximize collective effectiveness  Objectives of The Alliance

Aims to empower partner-communities to deal with disasters and humanitarian concerns (including blood services): E-nabling  embedded volunteers within partner communities; E-quipping  volunteer units with the necessary knowledge, skills & resources; E-nhancing  partner capabilities through the PIS Alliance and; E-ncouraging  sustainability through recognition & incentive systems; E-ffecting  the localized delivery of Red Cross services;  E-xtending  these services to surrounding communities and to the Alliance;  E-stablishing  local alliances. E-NHANCE   CAPABILITIES  THROUGH THE  REDCAP ALLIANCE ENHANCING through SHARING: Share Knowledge Share Information Share of Resources:   Share Best Practices MEANS of SHARING: PIS Meetings & Conferences PIS Web Portal Alliance joint operations 7Es of Partners in Service
PARTNER Establish & develop an embedded set of volunteers within partner organization Orchestrate coordinated actions to counter disasters or emerging threats Volunteer Resources Blood Info Emergency Assets (EAS) EMERGENCY ACCESS SYSTEM  Information & Resource Sharing PARTNER PARTNER INTERNET WEB SERVER
E-FFECT LOCALIZED DELIVERY OF RED CROSS SERVICES E-NCOURAGE SUSTAINABILITY Implement Red Cross services/projects or support services (eg. IT projects, inform. campaign, etc.) Minimum projects implemented: Blood letting campaign (Ideally 5% of population), Blood typing campaign, Fund Raising campaign Primary Red Cross Services are:  Disaster Response and Relief, Blood and Safety Service. Other Red Cross Services include:  Community Health & Nursing, Social Services, Youth Development and International Humanitarian Law  Awards and Recognition programs are intended to ensure sustainability System of incentives to encourage desired outcomes, values, behaviours 7Es of Partners in Service
E-XTEND SERVICES TO EXTERNAL COMMUNTIES/THE ALLIANCE E-STABLISH LOCAL COMMUNITY ALLIANCES Disaster Response and Red Cross services extended to surrounding communities as community outreach/corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives Initiate and lead public advocacies on behalf of local community Mutual Disaster response and DRM assistance to Alliance members Establish local cluster alliances/align interests Use PIS web portal forums to facilitate local alliance coordination and information sharing Cascade PIS Alliance knowledge and skills to local alliances 7Es of Partners in Service
