A teacher must commit to continuing their education to improve skills and stay up to date on new techniques and strategies to meet students' needs. This unit prompted critical thinking through reaction papers on five authors with different views. Action research allows teachers to investigate techniques and solutions in their own classrooms to address real issues. Teachers need ongoing professional development to upgrade their knowledge and abilities to provide students and the profession with their best efforts.

- 1. ReflectionUnit 4: Professional Development A teacher is not only a person that studies during 5 years more or less and nor a person that knows the language or contents and has the skills. Being a teacher implies to be commitment with the profession and one way to do that is by continuing education that can help to improve a lot our teacher competences and skills as and also to broaden our minds in relation to new techniques or strategies and also according to students’ needs. In this unit we were expected to do a reaction paper based on five authors, all of them have different point of views; therefore this assignment prompted a critical thinking at the moment of doing it. As one of the most important aspects to highlight in the process of professional development is the Action research, or classroom investigation that definitely allow us to find out new techniques, strategies or solutions to some issues, due to the teacher is investigating in her/his area, and generally in real contexts. teachers as it was mentioned, need to upgrade their knowledge, skills, abilities and competences in general in order to give to the students and the profession what they deserve, the best of them.
