Reflective Analysis
Requirements
 Reflective analysis approximately 750 words or equivalent (10 marks)

 The reflective analysis should select key micro features of the
sequence and demonstrate how they make meaning(s) and aim to
provoke response(s) in audiences. Candidates working in a group
should focus on the construction and impact of their chosen micro
aspect.
Good evaluation
 A short introduction outlining your intentions when you started the
  project.
 A good outline of your target audience.
 A clear understanding of the codes and conventions of your
chosen genre and discussion of how you
  used/developed/ignored them.
 A focus throughout on how successfully your film achieved what
they set out to do, through specific references to micro elements.
Bad evaluation

 People who have done LESS WELL have generally done so
  for the following reasons:
 There is little or no focus on their specific role in the
production and its impact on the finished film.
 They have purely written a description of the production
process with little or no analysis of micro elements.
 They have failed to identify a target audience or mention
audience feedback; therefore failing to assess the success of
  the finished film.
Reflective analysis outline
Planning your evaluation:
 What was your initial idea or plan? What genre of film did you
  want to make?
 Were you able to do this? If not, why?
 If so, who was your target audience?
 Having decided on your film, what codes and conventions did
you decided would be key? How did you meet these
conventions? What id you include in your film to meet the genre
  ideals?
 To do this, you should focus on two or 3 micro elements (camera,
sound, etc) to explain what you did and how successful you
  believe your project to be.
