This report discusses knowledge modeling techniques used in traffic systems. It begins with an introduction to knowledge modeling and discusses two prominent techniques: Generic Tasks and CommonKADS. It then provides an overview of traffic systems and how CommonKADS can be applied to model the knowledge in a traffic system. The report identifies the key steps in the CommonKADS methodology as applied to traffic systems: knowledge elicitation, identifying domain knowledge, identifying task decomposition structure, and identifying the inference knowledge model. Diagrams are provided to illustrate the domain concepts and architecture of a traffic system.
