This project aims to create an online portal for document sharing between faculty and students at a college. The portal will allow faculty to upload documents like syllabi, timetables, notes and notifications from their computers. Students can view and download the documents relevant to their semester from the online server using an Android app on their mobile devices. Faculty have access to upload and manage documents for all semesters while students only see information for their semester. The system uses a login system for security and allows documents to be shared in common formats like Word and PDF.

- 1. Project Name: Android Based Student-Faculty Document Sharing System. Project Description: This project is an online portal between students and faculty. This innovative system allows college faculty to share important data as well as notifications with engineering students. It consists of a faculty login along with student login. Since college faculty operate through pc and document uploading is simpler through a pc, the faculty login is to be performed through a computer. Faculty may upload documents of subject syllabus, timetable document, notifications, e notes etc through their provided login. The documents are uploaded by faculty to different corresponding departments. We propose to build this system on an online server that allows faculty to upload data and students may view and download required documents through their android device. Here students only see and download data of their particular semester. Rest data is hidden. Faculty may access and upload/edit documents to any semister or add any notice as desired. Features: User login: This allows only the registered users to login in order to use this location tracking application. Document details: This module stores documents in word and pdf format and also allows students to view particular data. Server management: The server smartly handles data and allows students with an android device to access data as well as faculty to upload document details. Faculty Upload: The system allows faculty to upload documents to server. Student Download: The system allows student to download and view data through his android phone using an active internet connection.
- 2. Used Language: Front End: JAVA, PHP Back End: MySql. Software Requirements: Windows 8.1 Android Development Toolkit(ADT) Notepad++, Sublime Text Hardware Components: Processor – all Hard Disk – 5 GB or more Memory – 1GB RAM Android device
- 3. How to use: Student portal: Student-faculty file sharing student portal where students can get their needed files and information that is shared by faculty to the students. Students have to click the student button to view sharing files and faculty have to click Faculty Member button to share faculty’s sharing information. - 4. Student Access view: Student access view where a student access legally and they can view books, notices, results, Students discussion and also allow to message to the faculty as their need. Figure-02: Student access view of the app.
- 5. Student-panel View books: View books of Student section where students can view their books and download them when they want. Figure-03: Student panel view books.

- 8. Advantages: This project has a login page which allows only the registered user to login and thereby preventing unauthorized access. This system can be used to view all the syllabus, updates details. The android mobile user will be able make quick download from anywhere using internet. Usage of this application will greatly reduce time in engineering document sharing. Disadvantages: The android mobile user will not be able to insert or view details if the server goes down. Thus there is disadvantage of single point failure. Applications: This application can be used by all engineering/non engineering colleges. This application can be used by all departments of a university. The application can prove very beneficial in to the institutes, classes as the requirement is very high in such places. Conclusion: We appreciate that this app is more suitable for any institution or faculty and features of this smart sharing system is more easy to use. This app will helpful both for the faculty and students of any institute.
