RtI (Response to Intervention) is a multi-tiered framework for providing academic and behavioral supports to students. It involves three tiers of intervention with increasing intensities. Tier 1 focuses on school-wide supports for all students (80-90%). Tier 2 provides targeted interventions for some students (5-15%) at risk of problems. Tier 3 offers intensive, individualized interventions for a small number of students (1-7%) who need additional support. Interventions are selected based on data and focus on building skills to address problem behaviors or risk factors.
