AAiimm:: to find some information about Russian
inventors and clear up their contribution into
scientific progress.
TTaasskkss::
1.Clear up who the Russian inventors are.
2.Know what they invented.
3. Learn a lot of useful information about
achievements of our great scientists.
4.Clear up if their inventions were useful for the
progress.
IInnvveennttiioonnss
There are a lot of inventions in the
world. New inventions appear every
day to make our lives easier, longer,
warmer, faster, and so on.
But only a few inventors design a
new machine or product that
becomes so best-known all over the
world.
RRuussssiiaann iinnvveennttoorrss
When you feel hot, you switch
on the cooler; when it's too
dark to see, you switch on the
light bulb; you can also talk to
your friend miles away using
the telephone; you can also fly
places in a plane and there
are so many things that you
can do today because of some
of the famous inventors and
their inventions.
The Russian inventors and
scientists made the great
contribution to the development
of world science. Their names
are world-known.
It's almost impossible to
name the branch of science in
which the Russian inventors
haven't played the greatest
role.
IVAN KULIBIN
Ivan Kulibin was a Russian
mechanic and self-educated
person. He was born in Nizhniy
Novgorod. From childhood,
Kulibin displayed an interest in
constructing mechanical tools.
Soon, clock mechanisms
became a special interest of his.
His realizations as well as his
prolific imagination inspired the
work of many.
1735— 1818
Alexander Fedorovich Mozhaisky
Mozhaisky was a Russian naval
officer, aviation pioneer and
designer of heavier-than-air craft.
Mozhaisky's airplane was the 1st in
the world.
The first flight of that aircraft took
place in the military camp of
Krasnoye Selo on the 20th of July,
1882. It was not allowed for
Mozhaisky to raise in the sky.
Because he was already 57.
1825 -1890
AALLEEXXAANNDDEERR SSTTEEPPAANNOOVVIICCHH PPOOPPOOVV
A. Popov was a Russian physicist
who was the first person to
demonstrate the practical application
of electromagnetic radio waves.
Beginning in the early 1890s he
continued the experiments of other
radio pioneers, such as Heinrich
Hertz.
In 1894 he built his first radio
receiver, a version of the coherer.
Further refined as a lightning
detector, it was presented to the
Russian Physical and Chemical
Society on May 7, 1895—the day has
been celebrated in the Russian
Federation as Radio Day.
1859 -1906
Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev
Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev was a
Russian scientist and inventor. He
created the first version of the
periodic table of elements, and
used it to predict the properties of
elements yet to be discovered. All
future discoveries in the field of
chemistry and physics have been
based on this law. His discovery
made it possible to find 38 new
chemical elements to fill the empty
spaces left in the Periodic table.
1834 - 1907
Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky
K. Tsiolkovsky is a rocket
scientist and a pioneer of
astronautics. He is
considered to be one of the
founding fathers of rocketry
and astronautics. His works
later inspired leading Soviet
rocket engineers such as
Sergey Korolyov and Valentin
Glushko and contributed to
the success of the Soviet
space program.
1857 -1935
Sergei Pavlovich Korolyov
S. Korolyov devoted his life to
rocket research, constructing
artificial satellites. He was a
Rocket engineer and designer,
“Father” of the space program.
History changed on October 4,
1957, when the Soviet Union
successfully launched Sputnik I.
The world's first artificial
satellite was about the size of a
basketball, weighed only 183
pounds, and took about 98
minutes to orbit the Earth on its
elliptical path.
1907 - 1966
IIggoorr IIvvaannoovviicchh SSiikkoorrsskkyy
I. Sikorsky is a helicopter and aircraft
designer. He was considered to be the
"father" of helicopters not because he
invented the first. He was called that
because he invented the first successful
helicopter, upon which further designs
were based.
He also designed and built the first
military helicopter, XR-4, which he
delivered to Colonel Franklin
Gregory of the U.S. Army.
1889 - 1972
Vladimir Zworykin
Vladimir Kosmich Zworykin was
a Russian-American inventor,
engineer, and pioneer of
television technology. Zworykin
invented a television
transmitting and receiving
system employing cathode ray
tubes. He has been called
“The Father” of Television.
1899 -1982
CCoonncclluussiioonn
Russian inventors have contributed generously to the
development of global scientific thought. Many of their
inventions have literally transformed the world, enabling
us to enjoy such blessings of civilization as aircraft, cars,
computers and television.
Throughout history Russian famous inventors have
contributed greatly to the world of invention and
innovation. We should remember their names.
