HOW TO LIFT WORKER?
USING PASSENGER LIFT
1. Installation of PASSENGER LIFT
 The employer shall comply with the manuf
acturer's specifications and limitations app
licable to the operation of all hoists and el
evators.
 Metal Studs or stand must be settled with
concrete at 90°
 Towers shall be anchored to the structure
at intervals not exceeding 25 feet.
 Hoist way doors or gates shall be not less
than 6 feet 6 inches high and shall be prov
ided with mechanical locks which cannot b
e operated from the landing side, and shal
l be accessible only to persons on the car.
USING PASSENGER LIFT CONTINUE
2 OPERATION
 All material hoists shall conform to the requirement
s of ANSI A10.5-1969, Safety Requirements for Ma
terial Hoists.
 Rated load capacities, recommended operating sp
eeds, and special hazard warnings or instructions s
hall be posted on cars and platforms.
 No person shall be allowed to ride on material hoist
s except for the purposes of inspection and mainte
nance.
 Hoisting ropes shall be installed in accordance with
the wire rope manufacturers' recommendations.
 Hoist repair works must be done by those who are
competent/qualified and the repairing work shall co
mply with the manufacturer's instructions.
HOW TO BRING MATERIAL?
USING MATERIAL HOIST
• Train workers on the proper procedures
for erecting, inspecting, testing and mai
ntaining the material hoist as recomme
nded by the manufacturer.
• Check for not exceeding the safe load li
mit (<1000kg) of the hoist while carryin
g clay tile.
• Inspect hooks, ropes, bricks for avoidin
g damages and wire ropes and chains l
ubricated.
• Use of PPE who will operate the Engin
e IN Ground site
• Use of Sign Board ad lifting speed must
be fixed to 25meter/min
• According to personal fall arrest syste
m(PFAS)
- Full body harness (ANSI stan
dard)
- Retractable lanyard
- Standard nylon harness (weldi
ng at height)
- Safety net
- Safety belt
• Maintain a Daily and weekly site supe
rvision Report
• Provide rails and non-slippery carpet
if site consist of slippery condition.
HOW TO WORK SAFELY?
HOW TO KEEP MATERIAL AT HEIGHT?
Step1: Implement a fall protection for tools program
and specification
Step2: All overhead equipment and locations for loo
se items are inspected and recorded
Step3: Falling objects are controlled and slippery s
urfaces be avoided
Step4: Equipment's such as toe boards of standar
d size 4inches with clearance , guardrails and platfo
rms must be checked by safety supervisor
Step5: After installation of toe boards, guardrails an
d platforms, be ensure with safety standard by safe
ty supervisor
Step6: workplaces at height have to clear of loose
materials and store materials well back from edges
Step7: Proper warning sign boards have to install n
ear the edges
HOW TO PROTECT WORKER WORKING BELOW?
• Firstly all the employees should be trained on how
to use tools and safety practices to be considered
at work place.
• Before performing the work hazards should be car
efully assessed to the worker by the authority.
• Dispose all wastes, and unwanted materials must
be disposed of at a designated place.
• Do not leave planks with nails on passageways.
• Use toe boards, screens on guardrails or scaffold
s to prevent falling objects. Toe boards should be
capable of withstanding of objects which were he
avy in any downward and outward direction.
• Use debris nets, catch platforms or canopies to ca
tch or deflect falling objects. By using debris nets i
f any worker slips from height it would somewhat
slow the force of falling objects.
