- 5. When ascending / descending ladder, FACE IT with both hands FREE. Always maintain 3-point contact • 2 hands, 1 foot • 2 feet, 1 hand
- 6. Ladders of insufficient length pose potential fall hazard. Ensure the top of ladder is extended 36” (min) above the landing or provide grab bar. To firm footing top rail mid rail drop bar Ladder inclined at 75O with the horizontal, positioned to allow sideway step to and from the landing.
- 7. Ladders must be secured by the side rails (stiles), not by the rungs, by means of lashing or ladder clamp.
- 8. Load bearing coupler as a temporary positive stop during scaffold erection. Do not hook lanyard onto a ladder / hole of scaffold post.
- 9. Use rope to lower or raise tools / materialsNever drop tools
- 10. Cover all OPENINGS on the platform deck
- 11. Transom Substitute Scaffold Board for Transom DON’T (scaffold load bearing tube)
- 12. Don’t use / work on an incomplete scaffold
- 13. Don’t move scaffold with person on platform Use mobile scaffold only on paved areas.
- 14. Poorly supported Planks Scaffold planks must be piled evenly supported to prevent warping / distortion.
- 15. DO NOT EXTEND SCAFFOLD TUBES TOO LONG
- 16. POOR HOUSEKEEPING …materials left cluttered on the ground … couplers rusting in storage drum filled with water
