Introduction Upon further examination of my short film screenplay, along with having to take into consideration certain complications that have risen around certain scheduling issues, I have made the decision to simplify certain section of the narrative. My biggest fear naturally was that what made the story special to me on a personal level, the emotional connection and the deep themes being explored would be lost. Luckily I can say with confidence that after having spent months developing the idea and formatting it into a film that works effectively both on a visual and storytelling level, I have a clear idea of the key themes being explored and therefore know how to implement them and give emphasis through visual language and other technical and storytelling elements. My hope is that a simpler story will work better and help to shift the focus on the aspect of the narrative that really matter, and convey the

If I were to do this project again, the very first thing I would pay a significantly larger focus on is creating an outline of the themes being explored from the very beginning and how they correlate with what is being presented on screen. As that’s an integral part of the story, and essentially what base on which it stands. Breaking down further into each scene, one must identify the objective along with the theme, the correlation of which then translates directly into the visual language. Additionally, I must not forget that patience is key and ideas need time to evolve and grow into something more profound and deep. This is especially important to me since the story is very personal, and for the most part is not only based on, but also reflective of my own experiences. It is for that exact reason why I’ve been reminded through this process the importance of staying true to yourself, whilst being constructively critical every stap of the way.
