SEARCH ENGINE BASICS
• Search Engines are the programs
where people search for their search
queries using specified keywords.
• Some of the popular search engine are
Google, Bing, Ask, Bing, Baidu, etc.
SEARCH ENGINE RESULT PAGE
• The entire page which appears on
google when we search something is
called as SERP Page.
• It is basically a Google's response to a
user’s search query.
• This page is divided into 2 types:
1. Organic Results
2. Inorganic Results
HOW SEARCH ENGINE WORKS?
• It includes various components :
1. Spider and Crawler
2. Indexing process
3. Google Database
WORKING OF SEARCH ENGINE
SPIDER & CRAWLER
• These are the two main
tools of google whose
function is to pick relevant
data by crawling on each
website.
• Relevant data includes Page
title, Meta description, Meta
keyword, Alt text, Content,
Heading and Url.
INDEXING PROCESS
• Spider and crawler, then
stores website’s relevant
data in Google’s
database.
• This process of storing
website’s data in the
database of Google is
called as Indexing
Process.
DATABASE
• It is basically termed as
the Store House of
website’s data.
• All the relevant data
picked by spider and
crawler is stored under
the Google’s Database.
WHAT IS SEO ?
• Search engine optimization is the process of
improving the visibility of a website or a web
page in search engines via the "natural," or un-
paid ("organic" or "algorithmic"), search results.
• SEO may target different kinds of search,
including image search, local search, video
search, academic search, news search and
industry-specific vertical search engines.
TYPES OF SEO
ON PAGE SEO
• On-page SEO (also called on-
site SEO) is the process of
optimizing your webpage
content for search engines and
users.
• Common tasks associated
with on-page SEO include
optimizing for search intent,
title tags, internal links, and
URLs.
OFF PAGE SEO
• Off-page SEO refers to SEO
tactics applied outside of a
website to improve its
rankings.
• These tactics often include
link building, guest posting,
social media marketing, and
more. .
TECHNICAL SEO
• Technical SEO is the
process of optimizing a
website for search
engines, but it can also
include activities meant to
improve user experience..
