HUL's Shakti Project aims to increase rural distribution and empower underprivileged women. It provides livelihood opportunities to about 45,000 women across 15 Indian states. Women selected as "Shakti Amma" entrepreneurs are trained and invest 20,000 rupees to buy and sell products door-to-door or in shops, making a 10% margin. "Shakti Vani" spreads health, hygiene, and women's empowerment messages. "I-Shakti" gives rural people internet access via local language content on kiosks. "Shaktimaan" employs men on bicycles to further distribution and sales while enhancing Shakti family incomes.
