What does eGov Exchange offer? Legacy systems join the SOA with minimal effort Gateway separates/decouples/shields the backend from the frontend Security – authentication and Authorization (Who ? Which services) Joined up services Integrated/collaboration services Value added services by private players eg. US Verification services invoked from front end => reduced overload on the backend Works as a catalyst in ensuring adherence to Standards. Each department service to manage just one interface for ‘n’ clients.
Benefits in the Long Term Shared common services like UID, Payment Gateway and Mobile Gateway Search directory of services State data asset - ideal scenario applications without attachments. Change management tool - eGov exchange works as a broadcast medium

Editor's Notes

  • #13: Date
  • #14: States can add 5 state specific MMPs. For this purpose or designing of any other e-Gov implementation Departments can source/access resources from SeMT directly/enabled by SeMT on need & duration basis
  • #19: Add Map + half page write-up on how this is going to work + virtualization
  • #27: The Information Technology Department of the government has proposed a Maharashtra Mandatory Electronic Delivery of Public Service Act 2010 to promote e-services to the citizens. Maharashtra government plans to make it mandatory for all state departments to provide various online services. Services like birth certificates, land documents and property papers would be available online for public, doing away with long queues and waiting periods at the Government offices. Along with online services the citizens would also have choices to opt for the earlier manual system All the departments have been asked to spend half per cent of their budgetary provision on computerization and providing online services to citizens. Departments are asked to set up time frame in which they can make the service available for the people online. They are also expected to come up with suggestions and objections. The Act would come up before the state cabinet for approval and would be tabled in the winter session of state Legislature.
  • #53: 11 states, 39 projects – Land Records/Transport/Property Registration – overwhelming support for ICT enabled processes over manual process 1) Impact on Corruption influenced by several factors including – location of service delivery channel, discretion of govt. officer in new process and total cost of transaction 2) Gujarat – 20 locations across 14 Talukas. Gujarat Property Registration – mutation processing solitary example of elimination of agents in post computerization thereby almost eliminating bribery
