OverviewJoin the Pittsburgh Area SharePoint User Group as we welcome Ian Rudy, Principal Consultant and Solution Architect at CIBER, to deliver a session entitled “Content is King.” During this session, Ian will discuss how to bring relevant content to people in today's global intranets, with the advent of user centered design concepts and social features having a strong influence on today's corporate intranets. Through the session you will learn about how SharePoint 2010 has the tools to build a more robust and relevant content/information delivery platform and how a strong Information Architecture (IA) can bring success to these efforts. The focus of this session is on personalized content delivery in an intranet setting and leveraging some of the new Enterprise Content Management features in SharePoint 2010 to make it happen.

Rather than requiring users to adapt their attitudes and behaviors in order to learn and use a system, a system can be designed to support its intended users’ existing beliefs and behaviors.Create experiences based on observed or implied user needs over time.Place users at the center and design solutions to support them.Social and Enterprise 2.0 concepts are starting to influence this approach in major ways. What is User Centered Design?
Separate presentation from storage and logical architectureAllows for proper site collection and content database storage modelsRemoves the need to know “where” things areProvides a more extensible and flexible design of SharePoint..
